Mr. Peter Gumm

7th-8th grade

Pete Gumm has served in Lutheran education since 2006, teaching and leading students from kindergarten through high school. He is passionate about fostering academic excellence while helping students grow in their faith, always keeping Christ at the center of learning. Pete enjoys math, STEM, coaching, and developing ministries with purpose. He and his wife, Angie, have three sons and enjoy traveling, sports, and home projects together.

Ms. Angie Nelson

5th-6th grade

Angie Nelson is a long time member of Beautiful Savior and has served the school for the past 8 years. She joined the faculty after retiring from public education and currently teaches language arts and social studies for 5th-8th grade. She is enthusiastic about reading novels with her students as they share their ideas about the book, their experiences, and their understanding of the world around them. Classes spend much time in project-based learning and inquiry driven instruction. Angie’s favorite part of the school day, however, is sharing God’s Word with the students and helping them grow in their faith. Outside the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her daughters and grandsons. Her hobbies include biking, hiking, and gardening.

Mr. Dan Maki

3rd-4th grade

Dan Maki has served in Lutheran education since 2008 in the elementary setting. He has been a classroom teacher as well as someone who administers technology. Dan enjoys Math, Science, History, and especially sharing the joy of Jesus with children. He and his wife have three children and he particularly enjoys doing home projects.

Ms. Ella Schlei

1st-2nd grade

Ella Schlei is a first year teacher who is very excited to serve in the 1st and 2nd grade classroom. She fosters a learning environment where students know they are loved and valued. The main focus in her classroom is always pointing students to Christ and using their talents and abilities to glorify him. Ella enjoys music, sports, and witnessing students have their "aha" moments. She also finds joy in writing and receiving letters, dancing, and exploring nature.

KINDERGARTEN

There are three things we love in Kindergarten: our Savior, our friends, and our learning! School goes so much farther than just reading, writing, and arithmetic. We explore with our senses, dig for answers, and learn how to pick ourselves up when we fall. Join our Kindergarten class as we navigate this beautiful world of God's creation! Together we will grasp Christ's love!

Mrs. Andrea Selves

PRESCHOOL

Andrea Selves has been a Lutheran early childhood educator since 2013, teaching Preschool and Kindergarten to God's littlest lambs. She is passionate about helping children grow to be strong independent learners who know they are loved by their Savior no matter what life brings their way. Andrea and her husband have four children and enjoy exploring new places, sports, and being with family. 

Mrs. Rachel Wilch

LOWER GRADE TEACHER

Rachel Wilch has been involved with Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church and School in some capacity or another since 2001. She currently teaches part-time, spending time teaching in the K-2 classrooms and tutoring school-wide. She is most passionate about literacy, but she enjoys all subject areas. In addition to teaching, Rachel enjoys putting together the school yearbook, coaching cross country, and assisting with the upper grade drama. She and her husband Joshua have three children, and they have experienced what a blessing this school is to Christian parents.
