At Beautiful Savior Lutheran School, we strive to serve as an extension of the home in the vital work of Christian education. In addition to the scope of public elementary curriculum, our school offers daily worship and Bible study. All subjects are taught with Christian love and the knowledge that we are God's children, thereby providing a Christian atmosphere with Christian fellowship.
We consider it a privilege to conduct our school so that our children may grow in the Christian faith, develop their God-given talents, be trained in leading a God-pleasing life, and finally receive eternal life! OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
Preschoolers learn through play. Our Preschool program is designed to guide your child's steps in developing Christian attitudes and practices, such as taking turns, worshiping, helping and loving one another, listening, sharing, and giving thanks. Your child will explore, play, and learn while we integrate social-emotional, academic, and pysical development into their day. We Share Jesus love with your child by providing encouraging, loving, quality care.
Preschool
There are three things we love in Kindergarten: our Savior, our friends, and our learning! School goes so much farther than just reading, writing, and arithmetic. We explore with our senses, dig for answers, and learn how to pick ourselves up when we fall. Join our Kindergarten class as we navigate this beautiful world of God's creation! Together we will grasp Christ's love!
KINDERGARTEN
In the first and second grade, Ms. Schlei works to create a classroom family around the Word of God. Students begin each day digging into God's Word and learning to apply it to every area of their lives. It is a joy to serve the children and families at Beautiful Savior! 1st-2nd Grade
In the third and fourth grade, students continue to see God's work in their everyday lives. From the rich blessings God daily provides, to the world he created for us and their place in it, our students are taught in a Christ-centered environment. Beyond academics, our students learn about responsibility and their growing independence. Mr. Maki's goal is to lead students into a faith-based understanding of the world, and to allow their faith shine in all that they do.
3rd-4th
Fifth and sixth grade students study God's Word and apply it to their lives. We work hard to collaborate so that parents and children feel welcomed and valued. Throughout the year, our students grow in our understanding of literature, writing, and geography.
5th-6th Grade
Our seventh and eighth grade students witness the wonder of God's amazing creation which is gushing with mathematical and scientific order and logic, and filled with rich history and linguistic beauty. We place a high emphasis on embracing and learning from our mistakes as we develop critical thinking skills that will help in all aspects of future development.
7th-8th
Multi-Grade
Beautiful Savior teaches in a multi-age setting. We divide our K-8 school into five classrooms: Kindergarten, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8. A multi-age classroom offers benefits not easily replicated in a single-grade classroom. Here are some things to consider:
Studies show that children in multi-age or family-grouped models score similarly or better academically than their comparison peers in traditionally-grouped classes. Case in point: New Zealand, the nation that boasts the highest literacy rate in the world. There, multi-grade classrooms are common today, just as they once were in America.
The mix of ages and abilities optimum opportunities for student collaboration as older students serve as role models. Younger children actively use older children to develop skills and to acquire knowledge, while older children actively assert responsibility for younger ones and develop an increasingly sophisticated understanding of that responsibility and their own studies.
When it comes to student affect (i.e., social relationships and attitudes), the case for multi-age organization is very strong. Of the 21 separate measures used to assess student affect in several major studies, 81% favored multi-age classrooms.
Our teachers are uniquely equipped to teach in multi-age classrooms, as this is a key focus in their college education.

Extracurriculars
At Beautiful Savior Lutheran School, we believe that extracurricular activities promote a more well-rounded educational experience. Student athletes at Beautiful Savior compete in various sports throughout the year. Students interested music have the opportunity to participate in instrumental lessons and choir. Numerous field trips and community service activities are peppered throughout the school year. Here's a quick look at some of the extracurriculars we offer:
Boys and girls in the upper grades have the opportunity to participate in volleyball and cross country every fall. We also offer basketball and schedule interscholastic games with other schools in our area in January and February. In early February, we take the older students to participate in a tournament in Saginaw, Michigan at Michigan Lutheran Seminary, and to Luther Preparatory School in early March. All of our 3rd - 8th graders participate in track meets with the other WELS schools in Ohio in the spring. In addition, we also host an annual "Sports Day" where we compete against other schools in kickball, dodgeball, and ultimate frisbee.
The Lutheran church has been known throughout the centuries as the church of music, and we are blessed to provide instruction in various instruments. Students receive 1:1 instruction and often play for chapel and Sunday services. All of our classes are also choirs and sing during church services throughout the year.
Academic Day is held in January, and is a competitive day where we demonstrate our academic skills with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Students compete in spelling, math, group skits, speech, poetry readings, and more. After competing against their schoolmates, Beautiful Savior's top performers move on to compete against other schools in Ohio.
Finally, there are at least two field trips during the year for each class, which are designed to build a greater awareness of arts & entertainment. In addition to local field trips offered, we also take our upper-grades on a week-long field trip. This road trip across several states allows students to learn about our nation's history and the diversity of cultures in the U.S.
